COMMUNITY-SOURCED · MK6 · LIGHTING
Adds a daytime running light on/off setting to the cluster (MFA+) menu.
Applies to
VW Golf / GTI / Golf R Mk6 (5K), 2011 on, with a factory MFA cluster.
Not confirmed for
2010 model year cars, Jetta sedan/GLI 2011-2018 (different body module), Jetta SportWagen, Tiguan, Eos, CC
Module
09 Central Electronics (BCM). BCM PQ35 (5K0 937 08x), label file 1K0-937-08x-09.clb.
Method
Long coding
Requires
MY2011+ car with a factory MFA cluster. DRLs must still be enabled in coding.
1 · Before you start
Run a full Auto-Scan and save it. Copy the whole long coding string of 09 Central Electronics (BCM) and keep it somewhere safe.
2 · VCDS
Select 09 Central Electronics > Coding - 07 > Long Coding Helper.
Byte 15, Bit 7: tick 'Daytime Running Light (DRL) Adaptation active (MFA+)'.
Then switch DRLs on or off in the cluster menu under Lighting. This only works if the DRLs haven't been disabled in coding.
Notes
The label file also has Byte 9 Bit 7 'Manual Activation/Deactivation for Daytime/Permanent Running Lights (DRL/PRL) suppressed'. No source covers it, so leave it alone. Source coverage: Ross-Tech 5K (2011+ with factory MFA); vag-coding.net (Golf 6 5K 2011+); SVicksTC (Mk6 GTI 2011+); vagcode.info label decode (label evidence only).
