COMMUNITY-SOURCED · MK6 · LOCKS & WINDOWS

With the car parked and locked, the windows and sunroof close automatically if the rain sensor detects rain.

Applies to
VW Golf / GTI / Golf R Mk6 (5K), 2010 on, with a factory rain/light sensor.

Not confirmed for
Jetta sedan/GLI 2011-2018 (different body module), Jetta SportWagen, Tiguan, Eos, CC

Module
09 Central Electronics (BCM) plus its RLS (rain/light sensor) sub-system. BCM PQ35 (5K0 937 08x), label file 1K0-937-08x-09.clb. vag-coding.net reaches the RLS sub-system as 'module 2' in the Long Coding Helper.

Method
Long coding

Requires
Factory rain/light sensor (label file Byte 21 Bit 5 'Rain/Light Sensor (RLS) installed'). Car locked with the remote (vag-coding.net).

1 · Before you start

Run a full Auto-Scan and save it. Copy the whole long coding string of 09 Central Electronics (BCM) plus its RLS (rain/light sensor) sub-system and keep it somewhere safe.

2 · VCDS

  1. Select 09 Central Electronics > Coding - 07 > Long Coding Helper (main module).

  2. Byte 4, Bit 6: tick 'Comfort Operation Windows/Sunroof via Rain Sensor (Rain Closing) active'.

  3. Byte 4, Bit 5 'Comfort Operation Windows/Sunroof via Rain Sensor (0 = nonrecurring / 1 = permanent)': Ross-Tech and vag-coding.net tick it (ticked = 'permanent' mode).

  4. Open the RLS sub-system in the Long Coding Helper (vag-coding.net: module 2) and tick 'Rain Closing active' (vag-coding.net: Byte 0 Bit 2).

  5. Lock the car with the remote for it to work (vag-coding.net).
