Method
Adaptation
Login (security access)
31347
Requires
Factory front fog lights, and Coming/Leaving Home working on the car.
1 · Before you start
Run a full Auto-Scan and save it. In 09 Cent. Elect. (Central Electronics / body control module), write down or screenshot the current value of every setting before you change it.
2 · VCDS
Open address 09 (Cent. Elect.) and save an Adaptation channel map first.
Security Access (16): enter 31347.
Adaptation (10): choose 'Comfort illumination-Coming Home Leuchten'. Find it by name; channel numbers vary with equipment.
Set it to 'Fog light' (German: 'Nebellicht') and save.
What this changes
Replaces the lamps used for Coming/Leaving Home: the fog lights instead of the low beams. This is a selector setting; no Leuchte output or slot is changed. Note: vag-coding's separate 'xenon and LEDs' version (keep low beam, add fogs) writes 'Coming Home oder Leaving home Aktiv' into Lichtfunktion slot E of both fog outputs and sets Dimmwert EF to 100. That version would overwrite slot E and is not part of this entry.
Notes
golfgtiforum notes that channel numbers vary with equipment, so search by the label.
