Requires
Working static cornering lights (factory, or from the fog-cornering coding, which is on hold).
1 · Before you start
Run a full Auto-Scan and save it. In 09 Cent. Elect. (Central Electronics / body control module), write down or screenshot the current value of every setting before you change it.
2 · VCDS
Open address 09 (Cent. Elect.) and save an Adaptation channel map first.
Security Access (16): enter 31347.
Adaptation (10): find the static cornering light 'in reverse' channel. vag-coding shows it as 'static directional light-bei Rueckwaertsfahrt' or 'static AFS light-bei Rueckwaertsfahrt'; ascoding shows the German names 'Statisches Kurvenlicht' > 'Rückwärtsfahrt'.
Set it to 'Bilateral' (both sides) and save. One source says this is already the factory setting.
Notes
According to ascoding.ch, both sides is already the factory setting, so many cars may already do this.
