Requires
LED license plate lights fitted.
1 · Before you start
Run a full Auto-Scan and save it. In 09 Cent. Elect. (Central Electronics / body control module), write down or screenshot the current value of every setting before you change it.
2 · VCDS
Open address 09 (Cent. Elect.) and save an Adaptation channel map first (you'll need it to go back to bulbs).
Security Access (16): enter 31347. A wrong code locks you out for about 10 minutes (DAP).
Adaptation (10): 'Leuchte25KZL HA59-Lasttyp 25' set to '43 - allgemeine LED'.
'Leuchte25KZL HA59-Dimmwert AB 25' set to 127.
If low-power LEDs still give a warning, two sources use '41 - LED Kleinleistung' for Lasttyp 25 instead.
What this changes
Changes the Lasttyp (load type) of the plate-light output Leuchte25KZL HA59 from its factory value (not given by sources) to 43 (or 41), and Dimmwert AB 25 (factory value not given) to 127. This is intended for LEDs, but the factory values must be restored from the saved channel map if bulbs are refitted. No light function or slot is reassigned.
Notes
minkara reports low-power LEDs may still error with 43; 41 'LED Kleinleistung' fixed it. shopdap.com notes LEDs with built-in resistors may need no coding.
