MK8 IQ Headlight Retrofit Harness

This harness is designed for MK8 and compatible MK8.5 Volkswagen models originally equipped with Entry LED headlights converting to factory IQ LED headlights.

The Entry LED and IQ LED headlight systems use different wiring, communication, and control configurations. This harness provides the additional connections required to integrate the IQ headlights with the vehicle's electrical system.

Both North American (NAR) and European (ECE) IQ headlight configurations are supported when used with the appropriate components, coding, and dataset configuration.

Required Components

The harness alone does not complete the IQ headlight retrofit. Additional components are required.

• Compatible NAR or ECE IQ LED headlights • Headlight leveling height sensor • Front and rear height sensors recommended, with rear only supported for applicable basic configurations • 4B multifunction module • Required coding and dataset configuration

Important

This is not a plug and play retrofit.

Installation requires additional wiring, installation of the required control module and height sensor components, followed by the appropriate coding and dataset configuration.

Available headlight functions depend on the headlights installed, vehicle configuration, control modules, sensors, coding, and dataset.

Dynamic Light Assist and Matrix functions require a compatible configuration and are not enabled by the harness alone.

If you are unsure about compatibility, send your VIN along with the part numbers or photos of your existing and replacement headlights and compatibility can be confirmed before ordering.

Why This Harness?

MK8 Entry LED and IQ LED headlights use different electrical and control configurations and cannot be directly interchanged while retaining the required IQ headlight functions.

This harness provides the additional wiring required to integrate the IQ headlight system while retaining the factory vehicle wiring wherever possible.
